Review: Hoping for a good “fit” with Playtex Secrets!

I’m excited to be a part of the newest BzzAgent campaign for a Playtex Secrets Balconette bra. What a fun opportunity to be a part of — glad they thought I was a good “fit” — haha!

I’m not too picky about brands (but I like a good fit with proper support), but my personal favorites have been department store bras (like Vanity Fair), though I like an occasional one from Target’s Gilligan & O’Malley brand.

I’ll be sure to report back here after I’ve received it and had a chance to try it out for a bit. Stay tuned!

Adventures in Babywearing

So, I wrote this post in late October, but I kept forgetting to publish it because I’d get distracted or not have access to the computer or whatnot. Better late than never, I suppose!

I’m so excited! I’ve been fortunate enough to get my hands on a few baby carriers, gently used. I got a Mei Tai, which is a SSC (soft structured carrier), and a ring sling.

So far Baby A doesn’t seem to mind the mei tai, depending on his mood. He fell asleep in it in church. We haven’t yet tried the ring sling.

Here are some pictures of my beauties! (more…)

Twelve weeks old!

My sweet baby boy is 12 weeks old today! I can hardly believe it!

Just Monday he laughed out loud for what I believe was the first time. Now, he’s giggled before. But this was a full-out laugh. He was still sleeping, and initially I thought it was the beginning of a cry. But when I looked closer, he laughed again. And then he woke up slightly, and laughed again as I cuddled him. It was fantastic!

Four weeks ago today he smiled, socially. Granted, he’d been smiling since birth — not gas, but smiling to himself — but then he started smiling AT us, in response to us. He’d done it a few times before even four weeks ago today, but I wasn’t absolutely sure (and it was only a few days before). That date, four weeks ago today, was definite because I watched him smile and interact with his daddy.

And I CANNOT get enough of his smile. It’s addictive. His gummy little smile. His eyes lighting up. It’s fantastic!

I love my son. SO. VERY. MUCH.

So much more than I ever dreamed possible! He’s turned my world around, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I love being a mom.

Happy 12 weeks, Baby A! It’s been 12 of the most amazing weeks of my life thus far. I love you!

It’s Friday!

It's Friday!

Okay, so I’m not knocking being a mom. I love it! I just thought this was cute.

And it’s true! Here it is, Friday night, and I’m still up late washing bottles, doing dishes, and putting laundry away. My husband does a fantastic job and helps out a TON, but I just seem to clean better at night.

Not just because the baby keeps me busy during the day. I’ve always had a penchant for cleaning at night. When I was a teenager I’d clean my room most efficiently at night. Weird, right? I just get really motivated at night.

Plus, I never really went through nesting while I was pregnant. I kept waiting for the nesting to kick in, but it never did. I feel like it finally kicked in a few weeks after I gave birth, and now I’m just constantly doing something to clean up or organize.

Funny how having a baby does that to ya! :o)

I’m a mom!

As of July 2012, I’m a mom! Well, in my heart I’ve been a mom since my first pregnancy, which ended in a miscarriage at 12 weeks, in June 2008.

But in much of the world’s eyes, I wasn’t yet a “real” mom.

After years of struggling with infertility I became pregnant again, with our miracle son!

Now that our son is born, it’s official:

I’m a mom!

And, therefore, now a mommy blogger! Ha!
